Last Trimester Portfolio!

Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Today’s post is going to be a showcase of my best work in trimester three! Hope you enjoy!

Language Arts ~ Book Club #2

In Language Arts, we had a book club. Our book club is kinda different from what you’d usually do in a normal one. We do read the book, discuss, and maybe write down a few notes. We actually have a writing analysis form, maybe an activity that goes along with the book, or video ourselves talking about the book. We had two book clubs in the whole school year. I personally enjoyed our Book Club #2 much more than Book Club #1. For our first club, we did an activity which was somewhat nervewracking for me because we had to perform it. Book Club #2 we recorded our discussion and sent our best one in through google classroom. The book I read for Book Club #2 was ” The Lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” It is a very popular book and movie. I enjoyed reading. It was suspenseful, interesting, and exciting all at the same time! I definitely would recommend you reading this book!

Here’s a picture of the book:

Math ~ Math Magazine Learning Showcase

In Math, we were graded on our presentation skills for our learning showcase. My partner was hmscole. The article we talked about was “Shooting for Success!” It is about a girl named Ixhelt Gonzalez who has femoral anteversion. She plays basketball in a wheelchair. Ixhelt has many accomplishments and dreams. I think she a great role model for people with disabilities. We both got a good grade on our presentation skill and explaining to the article to the best of our abilities.

Here’s the magazine:

Science ~ Atom Model

In Science, we were learning about the periodic table and the elements. We were allowed to choose one element and make a model of it along with researching more about it. I choose to do Helium. Helium has two protons, two neutrons, and two electrons. We used different colors of clay to make the model as well as a cup to hold it in. It was funny because my element didn’t have many protons, neutrons, or electrons I had to build. everyone was “upset” cause they had to build twenty or even sixty! After I was done, I went to help them out as an “apology” that I had to do less work than them.

Here’s a picture of my model:

Social Studies ~ Taiko Research Project

In Social Studies, we usually do projects related to the topic we are learning about. The topic we were studying was Ancient Japan. We needed to choose a food, tradition, clothes, or anything that was used or done in Ancient Japan. I choose to research about Taiko. I do Taiko as a choice elective and as a resource class. I enjoy doing it so that’s why I choose to research about it. I learned that taiko is referred to in many different ways. It is usually referred to a Japanese style of drumming, or it is referred to as a Japanese percussion instrument.

Drama ~ Project

In Drama, we had this BIG costume project. This basically determined what grade you are going to get in drama class. My group was hmsalexandra, hmsdaley, and hmschansen. (Go check out their blogs, I linked them) The musical we all choose was “Beauty and the Beast!” We didn’t want to dress up so we made a costume board with one male and female characters costume. We did Belle’s and Lumiere’s outfits or what they looked like. After we had a month or so do research and get everything we had to present it to the whole class! the maximum time we needed to hit was twenty minutes. Each person had to talk for at least five minutes. I personally think our group did great but it is up to our drama teachers to decide how well we did.

Recap of Student Blogging Challenge(SBC)

Wassup everyone! How are y’all doing? Today’s post is going to be a recap of the Student Blogging Challenge(SBC), and what I can improve on my posts! The questions will be listed down below!

 • How many weeks of the challenge did you participate in?
 • How many posts did you write in the ten week period?
 • How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers, or other visitors?
 • Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?
 • Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?
 • What are your plans for your blog now? Will you keep posting?

I have participated in all ten weeks of SBC. I wrote only one or two posts each week. It would depend on what we were required to do. I didn’t have much time to write though. I think I have received at least three comments or four, I’m not too sure. Although, I did comment on many other blogs. During the whole ten weeks of SBC, I enjoyed writing a post about music! Music🎶(Week 6) is the post I enjoyed researching and writing the most. I got to learn more about one of my favorite artists. It was just overall very interesting and fun! I only used pictures from Unsplash and Photos for Class. These provided safe pictures that I could use in my posts. I plan on to keep writing and posting about random stuff!

Here’s an example of an Unsplash Photo:

Spirit Week!😜

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Today’s post is going to be about our school Spirit Week! Hope you enjoy!

On Monday, we had HMS Day! We had to wear anything with our school’s name on it or anything school related. On Tuesday, it was Tidal Tuesday! Beachy wear was the goal for the day. My friend hmsrae wore these really tight goggles. It was hilarious! on Wednesday, it was May Day1 It was the first day of May, and we had to wear aloha attire! Someone had a bunch of flowers in their hair. There was so many!

On Thursday, it was Crazy Hair Day! We needed to make our hair look the craziest of them all. I had a “unicorn horn.” My other friends had the wildest, craziest, and definitely the most creative! We were all laughing for such a long time when we first saw each other! Finally, on Friday, it was Sports Day! My friends and I have planned on wearing our volleyball jerseys! everyone will think we are so cool! just kidding!

I personally loved this spirit week out of all the others. It was very crazy and creative if I say so myself! My favorite day was most likely Crazy Hair Day! I got to be a unicorn for a day and had a great laugh. I think that spirit week is a great way to bond with friends and just everyone in general!

Travel✈️

What’s Up, Everyone! How are you all doing? Today’s post is going to be about where I traveled to, and where I would like to go to in the future! Hope you enjoyed!

One of the first places I traveled to was Texas! I was only a few months old and stayed there for an entire year and six months. Although I barely remember everything, I’ve seen some pictures that my parents took. My favorite town in Texas would be San Antonio. Austin would be a close second though. In San Antonio, there is a zoo that contains animals that are sick, and they are not captured for peoples entertainment. I also know that in San Antonio, they have Sonic, Target, Walmart, Micheals, and so much more! I personally love Sonic for its slushies, fries, onion rings, and just the food and drinks are great.

Another place I travel to the most is Japan. I have family over there, so we try to go at least once a year. My first time going to Japan was when I was like one year old. I’ve been to many cities in Japan as well. I’ve visited Tokyo, Nagasaki, Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone, and so much more! My favorite places are Tokoyo and Nagasaki! I love each city but those two are my favorite. I enjoy the Japanese Disneyland and Disney DC. My family and I usually ride ALL the rides! I also have family in Nagasaki, so I enjoy to go there to visit them. The food in Japan is おいし!(delicious) I could literally shove it in my mouth and eat all at once! I would definitely recommend all of you to visit Japan someday!

Finally, I visited California! I don’t know which part of California, but wherever Disneyland is, that’s where I was. I went during Christmas time when I was around seven years old or so. It was a great experience! I enjoyed riding all the roller coasters with my siblings. It was overall very fun!

Where do you guys go traveling to? Hope you enjoyed!

Holiday & Season Poem🎶

Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Today’s post is going to be a little different…I’m going to be writing a poem about my favorite holiday and season! After you read it, I want you to guess what holiday I made my poem about.

Splendid colored leaves fall from the trees

Day by day the leaves fall off the soon to be naked trees

Crunches of the leaves make you realize what time of the year it is

New colors of the leaves remind you what time of the year it is

The sights of naked trees make you think about what time of the year it is

The wonderful cool breeze is memorable to the other years the time of the year brought

The smell in the kitchen brought back all the memories from the other years the food was made during this time of year

Everything was perfect

It was _______

Music!🎶

Wassup everyone! How are y’all doing? In this post, I will be talking a specific artist and some history about an instrument!

The artist I’ll be researching is Sam Hunt! Sam Hunt is an American singer and songwriter. Some of his most famous songs are “Cop Car” or “Body Like a Back Road.” I personally those two songs the most out of all the songs. To me, he personally is a great singer and I like his music style! Although, Sam hasn’t always thought of being a singer. He played football for many years and tried to have a professional sports career in 2014. Overall, I’m kinda glad that his sports career didn’t work out. No one would be able to listen to his amazing music!

Finally, the instrument I’ll be talking about is the drums. Drums are a percussion instrument. Also, they’re known as membranophones! Did you know that drums are one of our oldest instruments?!?! They made there first appearance all the way back in 6000 BC. The skin of the drum is usually made of animal skins. Another thing, the drum sticks are made this very strong and thick wood so it is very hard to break them. There are so much more facts about drums and so much more we can learn!

What do you guys know about music? Hope you enjoyed this post!

School!📓✏️

Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Today’s post I’m going to be talking about my school. I’m gonna share you guys my day and some events that we have!

My schedule has changed tremendously from when I was in elementary school. There are so many new classes and teachers! Also, we start about fifteen more minutes earlier and end fifteen minutes later from the elementary kids. Each day I have something new, but the only classes that I have every day in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Besides those four classes, I have a new class every day. For example, on Monday’s I have Team Sports(P.E.), my four core classes, and Choice Elective. A Choice Elective is a class we choose before each trimester. It’s like an extra fun class! On another day, I wouldn’t have those same classes. I would have Japanese, Art, and maybe even both!

Everyone is invited, even if you’re not from the school. One other event we have is Field Day! We have one free day where we have a lot of activities. For example, we have a bouncy house, some sports activities, and we get to go to the beach, and much more! We also Spirit Week! It’s where we have a week of fun dress up days. There’s sports day, crazy hair day, and much more! We have so many more activities! Do you want me to tell you more about the events we do?

Hope you guys enjoyed! What special events do your school have?

Have a wonderful day!

Story:Awesome Possum🔥🐀

Hey y’all! How are you guys doing? For today’s post, I’m going to be making a story about a crime-fighting possum. Don’t ask why I don’t even know the answer!

Once upon a time, there was a possum named Awe. He was like any normal animal. Going to school, playing at the park, and all the stuff that normal animals do. Little did everyone know, Awe was a superhero. Possum by day, Awesome Possum by night! Each night, Awe would stop crime. Sounds tiring? It is but he knows its all worth it! One night, he fought his arch enemy…Mr.Rats!!! Last time they fought, Awe won but barely. This time, Mr.Rats got stronger! After the horrific fight, Awe stopped being “Awesome Possum.” He felt defeated, worthless, not confident.

Few weeks have passed since Awe quit. The city is falling apart piece by piece. The city is even called Mr.Rats!!!! Someone needed to put a stop to this. After watching the city fall apart, Awe got back in action. That night he trained and practiced to be stronger for the next night. The next day, all Awe thought about was the fight. He was nervous but knew that he would never give up! That night, Mr. Rats and Awesome Possum met up and fought. It was close but Awesome Possum won! After that, Awesome Possum decided that he would never give up no matter what the case is. That is something that he would take with him forever!

THE END!!!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed! Did you like it?

Hope you have a wonderful day/night!!!

How To Link Images And Words!

Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Today, my post is going to be about “How to Link Images and Words!” The linking thing you would need to use is: Words to be a Link

Instead of putting”URL” you would need to put the URL of the thing you want to link for example: https://hmskaya.edublogs.org/

That is the URL of my blog, you would put that in replace of “URL.”

The “Words to be a Link” you can put “Click Here”, “My Blog!”, or the website you got the information or picture from. You can put anything you want as long as it’s appropriate.

How To Comment On My Blog!

Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Anyways, today’s post is going to be about how to comment on my blog! It’s actually pretty easy! All you need to do is look at the top right corner of the post you want to comment on. Then, you’re going to see “Categories”(the category I categorized the post) and “Leave a Comment.” You would want to press “Leave a Comment,” then it would it would automatically take you to the commenting box. This is for if you didn’t press on one of my posts. (If you want to read the post by itself) Then, scroll all the way down, and you’ll see “Leave a Reply” and a box. In that box, you can leave a comment!

Steps:

 1. Go to my blog or one of my posts
 2. Look at the top right corner of the post or the bottom of the post.
 3. Press “Leave a Comment” or the comment box and the bottom of the post.

Etiquette for Commenting:

The way I was taught on how to comment is to always start with “Dear” and the person’s name you are writing to or making a comment for.” Next, I was told to write an APPROPRIATE message, and conclude the comment or letter with “Sincerely, Love, etc.” and your name!

Steps(to make it easier):

 1. Start with “Dear and the person’s name you’re making a letter or comment for.”
 2. Write an APPROPRIATE message.
 3. Conclude with “Sincerely, Love, etc,” and your name!

Hope you enjoyed!
