Wassup Everyone! How are y’all doing? Today’s post is going to be a showcase of my best work in trimester three! Hope you enjoy!
Language Arts ~ Book Club #2
In Language Arts, we had a book club. Our book club is kinda different from what you’d usually do in a normal one. We do read the book, discuss, and maybe write down a few notes. We actually have a writing analysis form, maybe an activity that goes along with the book, or video ourselves talking about the book. We had two book clubs in the whole school year. I personally enjoyed our Book Club #2 much more than Book Club #1. For our first club, we did an activity which was somewhat nervewracking for me because we had to perform it. Book Club #2 we recorded our discussion and sent our best one in through google classroom. The book I read for Book Club #2 was ” The Lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” It is a very popular book and movie. I enjoyed reading. It was suspenseful, interesting, and exciting all at the same time! I definitely would recommend you reading this book!

Math ~ Math Magazine Learning Showcase
In Math, we were graded on our presentation skills for our learning showcase. My partner was hmscole. The article we talked about was “Shooting for Success!” It is about a girl named Ixhelt Gonzalez who has femoral anteversion. She plays basketball in a wheelchair. Ixhelt has many accomplishments and dreams. I think she a great role model for people with disabilities. We both got a good grade on our presentation skill and explaining to the article to the best of our abilities.

Science ~ Atom Model
In Science, we were learning about the periodic table and the elements. We were allowed to choose one element and make a model of it along with researching more about it. I choose to do Helium. Helium has two protons, two neutrons, and two electrons. We used different colors of clay to make the model as well as a cup to hold it in. It was funny because my element didn’t have many protons, neutrons, or electrons I had to build. everyone was “upset” cause they had to build twenty or even sixty! After I was done, I went to help them out as an “apology” that I had to do less work than them.

Social Studies ~ Taiko Research Project
In Social Studies, we usually do projects related to the topic we are learning about. The topic we were studying was Ancient Japan. We needed to choose a food, tradition, clothes, or anything that was used or done in Ancient Japan. I choose to research about Taiko. I do Taiko as a choice elective and as a resource class. I enjoy doing it so that’s why I choose to research about it. I learned that taiko is referred to in many different ways. It is usually referred to a Japanese style of drumming, or it is referred to as a Japanese percussion instrument.

Drama ~ Project
In Drama, we had this BIG costume project. This basically determined what grade you are going to get in drama class. My group was hmsalexandra, hmsdaley, and hmschansen. (Go check out their blogs, I linked them) The musical we all choose was “Beauty and the Beast!” We didn’t want to dress up so we made a costume board with one male and female characters costume. We did Belle’s and Lumiere’s outfits or what they looked like. After we had a month or so do research and get everything we had to present it to the whole class! the maximum time we needed to hit was twenty minutes. Each person had to talk for at least five minutes. I personally think our group did great but it is up to our drama teachers to decide how well we did.
